Be clever, play smart, and pickup craps the right way!

Games that use dice and the dice themselves goes all the way back to the Crusades, but current craps is just about a century old. Current craps come about from the ancient Anglo game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the birth of the game, although Hazard is believed to have been discovered by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, around the twelfth century. It is theorized that Sir William’s paladins wagered on Hazard during a blockade on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was derived from the castle’s name.

Early French settlers imported the game Hazard to Acadia. In the 1700s, when exiled by the British, the French headed south and located safety in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns. When they were driven out of Acadia, they brought their favorite game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns broke down the game and made it more mathematically fair. It’s believed that the Cajuns changed the name to craps, which is gotten from the term for the non-winning throw of two in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi scows and throughout the nation. A great many consider the dice maker John H. Winn as the father of modern craps. In the early 1900s, Winn built the modern craps layout. He added the Don’t Pass line so gamblers can bet on the dice to lose. Afterwords, he created the boxes for Place bets and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
